Prof. Dr. Burkhard Kleuser

Burkhard Kleuser, born in 1964, studied chemistry and food chemistry as well as biochemistry and molecular biology at the Universities of Wuppertal and Hamburg. After receiving his doctorate in 1994 and his postdoctorate in 1995/1996 at the Medical Center, Georgetown University, Washington D.C., USA, he worked from 1997 to 2002 as a scientific assistant and senior assistant at the Institute of Pharmacy at Freie Universität Berlin. He qualified as a professor in 2002 and in the same year received the teaching qualification for pharmacology and toxicology. Burkhard Kleuser was appointed Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Freie Universität Berlin in 2003. Since 2009 he has held the chair for Toxicology at the Institute of Nutritional Science at the University of Potsdam. Since 2011 he has been Managing Director of the Institute for Nutritional Science.
