Robust plastics are composed of molecular building-blocks, held together by tough chemical linkages. Their cleavage is extremely difficult to achieve, rendering the recycling of these materials almost impossible. A research team from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU) developed a molec ... more

Kristina Siebertz studied chemistry at the University of Zurich, where she also completed her master's dissertation in the Professor John Robinson lab. In February 2013, she moved to Berlin for her doctoral studies and is now part of the research group led by Prof. Christian Hackenberger at the Leibniz Institute of Molecular Pharmacology and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Her work focuses on the semi-synthesis of novel, homogeneous phosphorylated tau proteins and their influence on the formation of neurofibrillary tangles.
